Here’s how I got started:

I was a registered nurse for almost twenty years before I picked up a pen.

I began by writing stories about having cancer and raising a family and eventually learned to write for magazines, newspapers, websites ,and corporations.

I’ve written hundreds of articles that have appeared in dozens of publications.

I also wrote a weekly column for eight years about prenatal care, labor and delivery, and parenting.

That column led to two book deals with traditional publishers.

The thing is, I didn’t know what I was doing, and I didn’t have anyone to guide me. I figured it out and it was harder and messier than it needed to be.  If I’d had a coach it all would have been easier.
